"We simply need that wild country available to us, even if we never do more than drive to its edge and look in. For it can be a means of reassuring ourselves of our sanity as creatures, a part of the geography of hope."
Do you love the vast, open, wild beauty of the desert southwest?
New Mexico Wildlife Center works to ensure that we will all continue to have it as part of our “geography of hope.” They are committed to conserve and restore New Mexico native wildlife, as well as wildlife habitats. The Center promotes public awareness and action-oriented education. They preserve and renew our wild country through strategic partnerships and responsible wildlife rehabilitation.
On a “Wild Walk,” visitors to the Center can view over 35 wild animals that could not be released, from just feet away. An interpretive guide can explain the circumstances that brought the animal to the Center, the reason it could not be released, the habitat it requires, and the environmental challenges its species faces. “We believe that when people experience wildlife, they will be compelled to understand it. When they understand it, they will value it. When they value it, they will protect it.” New Mexico Wildlife Center is another of the remarkable nonprofits that have affiliated with SugarShopper. You can support them with our donation of 10% of every purchase you make, when you shop with SugarShopper and select New Mexico Wildlife Center.
